Eyefinity/OfficeMate's 2009 Users' Group Meeting Goes “Virtual”

Change in format shows a nearly 1,900 percent increase in user attendance
Rancho Cordova, Calif., August 5, 2009 –The 2009 Eyefinity® /OfficeMate® Virtual Users' Group Meeting (VUGM) attracted nearly 4,400 attendees who registered for the event, which took place July 13 through 17, with a 1,900 percent increase in overall attendance compared to last year. This year's meeting moved to an online Webinar format where practices could choose from a weeklong set of two-dozen courses made available through live interactive video sessions instead of an on-site meeting.
“In today's economy, it made sense to help our users by converting our annual user group meeting to an online format, which opened this event to thousands of users without them having to incur the loss of practice revenue and travel expenses to attend,” said C. Edward Buffington, Chief Operating Officer for Eyefinity/OfficeMate. “Because education is of paramount importance to Eyefinity/OfficeMate, we are dedicated to offering new and continuous learning opportunities for our users and are planning additional educational events in 2010 leveraging similar Webinar technology.”
Courses focused on a variety of issues including how to plan for successful electronic medical records (EMR) implementation, an ExamWRITER® EMR boot camp, e-Prescribing functionality, using OfficeMate to generate revenue, and an overview of the OfficeMate VSP interface. A roadmap of where Eyefinity/OfficeMate is going and where it has come from since its merger last year was also presented by Jim McGrann, President of Eyefinity/OfficeMate, C. Edward Buffington, and Steve Baker, Chief Technology Officer of Eyefinity/OfficeMate.
“The virtual user group meeting was convenient, cost-effective, and educational,” said Malcolm Kelly, O.D., of Oxford Family Eyecare in Oxford, Pa. "The course presenters were knowledgeable and answered questions from the users immediately. Simply put - this was a great investment for my practice.”
Users who registered for the VUGM have access to view all the courses again online from July 27 through December 1, 2009. Eyefinity/OfficeMate users who did not register for this year's VUGM can pay the registration fee of $129.00 through September 30, 2009, and receive access to the WebEx recording of every course, as well as the question and answer transcripts from July 27 through December 1, 2009.
