Rancho Cordova, Calif. – VSP® Vision Care, the largest vision benefit and services provider in the United States, announced their new Health Plan and Public Exchanges Business Unit, which focuses on increasing patient access to eyecare providers through these channels. To date, VSP has contracted with 90 new health plans for 2014, more than any other vision benefit provider. Al Schubert has been named the Senior Vice President and General Manager of this new strategic business unit. Health plan members will receive their eyecare through the VSP network of more than 30,000 providers.
Schubert brings a wealth of healthcare knowledge to his new role. He joined VSP in 1988 and was promoted in 1994 to launch the Managed Care Sales division.
