VSP Jumps to 20th Spot on Training Magazine’s Top 125 List

In its tenth consecutive year with a presence on the list, VSP jumped 77 spots to the top 20 on this year’s list, which honors companies that provide the best in training and education programs for employees, clients, and other stakeholders.

The award recognizes training programs offered to employees across VSP Global and its lines of business, including – VSP® Vision Care, VSP Optics Group, Eyefinity®/OfficeMate®, and Altair®, a division of Marchon® Eyewear. Additionally, this year’s application also incorporated training and educational resources offered to VSP’s private practice doctor network.
As part of the training and education offered to doctors, the application highlighted the Eyefinity/OfficeMate Virtual Users’ Group Meeting (VUGM), a weeklong set of educational courses on Eyefinity/OfficeMate’s software and web-based products held in July of 2009. By switching from an on-site meeting to a virtual, webinar-based meeting, VUGM attendance rose by 1900 percent, and helped save doctors from loss of practice revenue and travel expenses associated with attending an on-site educational conference.
Training Magazine’s editors compile their annual list after evaluating and scoring company applications through both quantitative and qualitative measurements. The editors considered multiple factors, including training strategically linked to business goals, corporate commitment to training, employee retention, best practices, scope and budget, innovation and delivery, and other factors.
