New UNITY Mobile Progressive Lenses Offer Enhanced Mobile Device Experience

Lenses help eye care professionals further customize patients’ lens solutions

Rancho Cordova, California -- At the 2014 International Vision Expo West, VSP® Optics Group is expanding its UNITY® portfolio with Mobile Progressive Lenses. UNITY PLxtra Mobile and PLx Mobile are optimized for the shorter near-viewing distance that mobile users need for regular mobile device use.

More people are spending a significant portion of their day on mobile devices, and there is a clear need to improve the visual experience when using a small screen that typically is held closer to the eye than traditional reading materials, has smaller fonts and an increased glare factor.

UNITY Mobile Progressive Lenses offer increased visual acuity and reduced eye fatigue for overall improved visual comfort without compromising the rest of the prescription.

“No one knows a patient, their needs and the best products to meet those needs better than their eye care professional,” said Dave Delle Donne, senior vice president of business development for VSP Optics Group. “With UNITY Mobile Progressive Lenses, eye care professionals have another innovative and customizable option to best meet their patients’ unique lifestyle needs.”

UNITY PLxtra Mobile and PLx Mobile will be available late September, exclusively through independent eye care practices. Eye care professionals will be able to select the mobile design at no additional charge to the patient or the practice.
