Inspire Progressive Lens Launched by VSP and Essilor in 8 States

Rancho Cordova, Calif., April 14, 2009 – VSP today announced the launch of their newest progressive lenses, Inspire™ and Inspire HD™, Powered by EssilorSM. The premium progressive lenses are available exclusively to VSP practices for VSP patients in Washington, D.C. and the following states: Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia.
Powered by Essilor’s patented 4Vu TechnologySM, VSP’s Inspire lens provides enhanced visual acuity and comfort by using the patient’s individual eye biometrics to calculate each lens prescription. The digitally surfaced Inspire HD lens provides all the benefits of Inspire and takes it to the next level by employing two additional patented technologies from Essilor to maximize visual performance and provide wider fields of vision.
“Working with Essilor, an innovative industry leader, we have set the bar high with the development of our Inspire and Inspire HD progressive lenses,” said Don Oakley, VSP’s president of ophthalmic operations. “Our network doctors and patients deserve and expect cutting edge lens technology, engineering and adaptability, and we are confident that Inspire and Inspire HD progressive lenses will deliver nothing less.”
